Molecular taphonomy is the process by which organic molecules pass from the biosphere to the geosphere and transform to geopolymers by insitu-polymerization. The study of these diagenetically altered biomacromolecules preserved in fossils is the primary objective of the ongoing research work.
Detailed addressal of the effect of diagenesis on the preservation of these biomacromolecules in the fossils by the use of comprehensive analysis using various techniques is expected to provide a more accurate picture.
In a nutshell, the chemistry of molecular fossils will efficiently reconstruct the past life and their dwellings by tracing their diagenetic history through these geochemical archives.
